How to Think About Technology in the Classroom

Many teachers, both new and experienced, feel as though technology is pushed into the classroom unnecessarily, and will actually interfere with their instruction. I can understand this fear, and I think that this graphic is a very clear and useful explanation of how technology can and should be thought of by educators.

I found this graphic on Mashable, and it was taken from a training done by schools in Maine who have the most comprehensive student-to-laptop program in the country. The rest of the article provides 6 great tips on how to train teachers and technology implementation in schools. This graphic illustrates that technology should not be thought of as an over haul of the classroom. Instead, technology is found more prevalent in some areas more than others. Technology should be used as a tool, not as a curriculum.
